My passion for arts, writing, and photography are the stepping stones that led me here.
When Mikey was born I picked up my first DSLR camera.
I had some background in photography and editing but didn’t really know anything about shooting in manual.
I wanted so badly to learn.
So I did.
I joined lots of photography groups, and googled how to….. CONSTANTLY.
This is when I discovered Heidi Hope.
She was the photographer that brought to life everything I had swirling around in my head.
I follow soooo many talented photographers but when I found her work it stood out. It just spoke to me.
As soon as heard about Photographer Rising and Heidi’s in-person workshops, it became a career goal of mine to attend one of her workshops.
I know this will surprise some of you but I think I teared up watching the Photographer-Rising promo video.
In previous years, I wasn’t able to attend for many reasons, but last week, my dream came true.
The nerves that I felt driving to Rhode Island were unreal. Like my first date with Bri.
Butterflies for days!
The minute I walked into her studio, the heaviness that I had been feeling from running a
really busy first year at the studio, completely lifted off of my shoulders.
I never felt like I was meant to be somewhere as much as I did at that moment.
Meeting her staff was incredible.
Heidi, Shaun, Kerri, and Sarah were all so very excited and extremely welcoming.
Their energy was great.
The nerves drifted away almost instantly.
I spent day one basically drooling over the amazingness that is Heidi Hope Photographers.
Not only did I learn so many helpful behind the scenes tips, but our discussions of running a photography business were eye opening in so many ways.
I went home that night with a packet of homework and I really found out a lot about myself and my business.
Heidi, if you are reading this, thank you so for pushing us to answer so many questions about ourselves.
Sometimes in chaos of real life, we forget small things that are huge for our inward inspiration.
I guess it is no surprise that I was drawn to Heidi’s artwork because I was also drawn to her as a person.
“You are your work, your personality infuses into it.” ~Heidi Hope
Its so true.
My work is me.
I give it absolutely everything I have and I love every minute of it.
I am going to take these brilliant words and inspiration and make 2018 the most memorable year yet for Little Moments by Katie.
Thank you Heidi for you.
Thank you Shaun for your immeasurable business knowledge.
Thank you Sarah for your posing tips & tricks and for sharing your experience with us.
Thank you Kerri for your hospitality, and kick ass essential oils recipe!
Thank you to the models and families who were Oh So Beautiful!
And shoutout to Sweet Indulgence for the amazing smash cakes!
If any of you are considering taking a photography workshop. Stop thinking about it and do it!
Take this one. It is the smartest investment I have ever made in this business.
Heidi has a few spots left for her April workshop and I am telling you, she doesn’t disappoint.
I would love to share these images with all of you. I look at them over and over again and still can’t believe that I was there.
I will cherish this experience forever.
